Operational excellence is built into everything we do

Embracing the challenge to provide high-quality stamped components and assemblies for our customers, we at Meier strive to continually improve our processes, capabilities, visual management standards and company culture to achieve operational excellence. We incorporate these efforts in the following ways.

  • Meier’s Operational Excellence Manager drives improvements in all areas of the workplace.
  • 5s/Lean Manufacturing applications are used and audited throughout the workplace. These include daily stand-up tiered meetings, posted standard work, visual metrics, daily 5s responsibility boards with monthly adherence audits.
  • Kaizen events that include value stream mapping that often lead to A3 improvement projects and report outs within Meier and the Cretex organization.
  • The entire Meier team embraces operational excellence improvements through an employee-driven Change 4 Better program. These employee ideas improve the areas of SQDC, i.e., safety, quality, delivery and cost while looking for waste reduction and increased capabilities.

From “learning to see waste” events to full Kaizen events, Meier uses Lean Leadership tools to improve processes and drive down costs to be a competitive leader in metal stamping critical parts for the medical, aerospace/defense and electronics industries.
